Monday was a very historic day, as President Trump officially acknowledged the Golan Heights as sovereign Israeli territory, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu present and looking on! Here is the arrival of Netanyahu to the White House, the joint Trump-Netanyahu press conference, and the signing ceremony of the official Presidential Declaration:
PM Netanyahu was scheduled to be in Washington for two days to meet twice with President Trump, and to speak live at the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) annual Policy Conference. However, his visit was cut short due to the rocket attacks on Israel from Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
As you likely know, Netanyahu is embroiled in a hotly contested election in Israel and this trip was expected to be a huge boost to Netanyahu’s campaign. I believe it says much about his character and his commitment to his nation and its people that he chose to forego what could have been a huge political boost in order to serve his people. I pray God will honor Netanyahu’s commitment by allowing him to be victorious in the April 9 election. Regardless, please continue to pray for him as he leads Israel forward.
