STILL URGENT: The Need to Pray for Israel has Never Been Greater

What a joy it was yesterday to hear the good news that Netanyahu’s administration squashed the “anti-missionary” bill that was once again put before the Knesset. Far right parties in Israel propose this (or a similar bill) almost every year, yet it betrays Israel’s strong commitment to freedom of speech. This year was perhaps a bit more concerning, though, as Netanyahu’s government is dependent upon keeping all coalition partners (including the far right, mostly Orthodox parties) happy. We praise God for victory over that bill.

However, all is not well in Israel. Not only are her enemies mounting very significant presence on her borders and even within (through terror proxies), but Israel is unraveling from within.

Never in history since Jesus’ resurrection have the two countries founded on God’s Word (Israel and America) been in such internal disarray. Never have the two nations simultaneously shaken their fists at God and abandoned their foundations so dramatically. Meanwhile, Christians and Jews seem unwilling to stand up and say, “Enough is enough, and we’re going to lead by repenting.” Repentance puts us in harmony with God, while refusing to do so puts us at odds with Him. How long will He put up with our rebellion?

I’m careful to say that no one knows the day or hour of Jesus’ appearing in the clouds to snatch believers from this earth (Matthew 24:36, 50; Matthew 25:13; Mark 13:32), but with one eye on Scripture and the other on world events, it seems wise to be alert and understand the time and season in which we live. (1 Thessalonians 5:1-11) It is late in the season and time is running out.

With that in mind, and to help us all understand the predicament in which Israel finds herself, we turn to a man who understands it well. Amir Tsarfati is a Jewish believer in Jesus, a former IDF officer with significant security knowledge, and a world-renown Bible teacher. He is qualified to speak Biblically regarding what we see in Israel today.

Please don’t simply watch his report, then go on as if all is well. Believers, it is time for prayer warriors to rise up and pray for Israel, as we are commanded to do in Scripture. (Psalm 122:6-9, Isaiah 62:1, 6-7) You will have plenty to pray about as you learn from this message. Will you be a prayer warrior?
