Some of Israel’s newest immigrants are American and Canadian!
For decades, Jews from around the world have made their way back to their homeland, just as prophetic Scripture says:
24 For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.~Ezekiel 36:24
8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country,~Jeremiah 31:8
And gather them from the ends of the earth.
17 Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I will gather you from the peoples, assemble you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.” ’~Ezekiel 11:17
20 “At that time I will bring you back,~Zephaniah 3:20
Even at the time I gather you;
For I will give you fame and praise
Among all the peoples of the earth,
When I return your captives before your eyes,”
Says the Lord.
America is home to the largest population of Jews outside of Israel and they have found refuge and opportunity in the Land of the Free. Many wondered how Bible prophecy regarding Jewish Aliyah (return to the homeland) would ever be fulfilled when it came to American Jews. After all, life was good and there seemed to be no reason for them to return to their tiny homeland.
The flow of American and Canadian Jews has been slower than from other countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Poland and others. But living in America is becoming increasingly difficult for Jews as Anti-Semitism grows more and more prevalent, particularly in large, liberal cities.
Thus, we are watching what could become a wave of North American Jews fleeing to their homeland to escape bias and violence against them. It is simply another sign of the times. In the end, Romans 11:26 tells us all Israel will be saved and, following fulfillment of prophecy, my prayer is many from the US and Canada will be among them!
When the US Embassy opened in Jerusalem in 2018, I was attending a conference in which we were “wired in” to the ceremonies via satellite. In the midst of that celebratory weekend, Christian artist Aaron Shust debuted his special song, Zion, to our crowd. It was incredibly moving.
In 2020, he performed the song at a concert at the Tower of David in Jerusalem. Every line of the song comes from Scripture, and the final phrase in Hebrew comes from the Shema, a Jewish blessing: Hear, O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One. To hear it sung in Israel brings God bumps! Here is Aaron Shust, in Israel, singing Zion. Listen carefully to the lyrics…
While I cannot promise a concert by Aaron Shust on our February 2023 tour, I can tell you we will have a special event at the Tower of David, where this concert took place. The citadel is a fabulous site that has been re-constructed from the time of David.
This in only one of dozens of sites we will see and experiences we will enjoy. We still have a few seats left on our tour and you are invited to fill them! Check out information at 2023 EXPERIENCE ISRAEL TOUR and join us in Israel in February!
