After 4 elections and $4.24 billion in 2 years, Israel finally seated their current “government of change” in April 2021. The mantra in Israel, was much as it was in America’s 2020 election, was “Anyone but the incumbent!” The liberal left in Israel was just as adamantly opposed to Benjamin Netanyahu as the liberal left in America was opposed to Donald Trump.
In Israel’s ancient history, the Lord promised to be their Savior and King, yet Israelites looked around and yearned for an earthly king just like everyone else. Ultimately, God gave them their wish and it didn’t turn out well! Key lesson: careful what you ask for!
Fast forward to the 21st century and Israel and America, the only two nations on planet earth founded on Biblical principles, forsook the blessings of God and clamored for “change.” Barak Obama gave us “change,” Joe Biden promises “change,” and the current Israeli government is known as the “government of change.” Let’s be clear, neither nation was exactly perfect prior to the 21st century, but the “change” each administration is seeking now bends distinctly toward evil.
To form a coalition and avoid a 5th election, current Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, a conservative, was forced to join together with moderates and far left liberals in order to unseat Benjamin Netanyahu. Included in the coalition are members of Israel’s largest Arab parties, whose allegiances often align with the Palestinians. Thus, when incendiary balloons are missiles are launched from the Gaza Strip, there is resistance within the ruling sector of Israel’s government. Israel’s military responses to threats from other Arab nations have proven to be slower and much less severe than during Netanyahu’s administration.
Just yesterday, Israel’s Minister of Energy issued this statement of change:
“Starting today, no more licenses will be issued for oil exploration on land in the State of Israel.”
For years, both countries have drifted further and further into “tolerance,” allowing immorality to creep into society and become commonplace.
Indeed, change is coming, and coming fast, in each nation. Great weakness has been birthed in all the change and, particularly in the Middle East, weakness is blood in the water of the piranhas (terrorist groups and rogue regimes who hate Israel and the US) Short of supernatural intervention, we are almost assuredly watching America stumble right off the world stage…which must happen for end time events to play out. We are also watching Israel work themselves into position where only God can rescue them…which will happen in the last days.
God’s Word is clear: NO ONE, not even Jesus the Son, knows the day and hour of Jesus’ return (Matthew 24:36) to “catch us up” in the air. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) We know that as the rapture.
But, though we will not know the day or hour, we are exhorted to know and understand the times and seasons in which we live. (Matthew 16:1-3, Luke 12:54-56) We are living in the time and season, and the apostle Paul gave us clear instruction regarding these days. I leave you with this…
5 Now as to the periods and times, brothers and sisters, you have no need of anything to be written to you. 2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord is coming just like a thief in the night. 3 While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction will come upon them like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness, so that the day would overtake you like a thief; 5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; 6 so then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since we are of the day, let’s be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 11 Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing.
~1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
