While attention remains fixed on American elections, provocation from Israel’s enemies continues to keep the IDF on their toes in the Middle East.
Last Sunday, rocket fire from the Gaza Strip resulted in thousands of Israelis running for cover, followed by retaliatory strikes by the Israeli Air Force. Hamas, an Iranian terror proxy and ruling faction in Gaza, is held responsible for attacks coming out the Strip.
Therefore, IAF attack helicopters and warplanes targeted underground infrastructure, training facilities and rocket manufacturing sites belonging to Hamas.
Later in the week, Israeli forces carried out additional missions on Iranian targets in Syrian-controlled territory on the Golan Heights, and near Damascus, after discovering Iranian explosive devises near the Israeli border. Those strikes were followed by action in Al-Bukamal, an eastern Syrian city that has become a hot spot for military activity.
Iranian missile facilities, barracks and other targets were successfully hit, resulting in at least eight casualties of Iranian soldiers. Also, Iranian-backed Iraqi soldiers are known to have lost their lives in the Al-Bukamal conflict.
These are signs that indicated Iran is feeling more and more emboldened with the thought of a less hostile Biden administration. Indeed, Biden has already indicated he would re-engage the US in the Iran nuclear deal if he becomes President. It seems the ayatollah is chomping at the bit to get back to the business of attempting to destroy Israel. Perhaps someone needs to tell him God has other plans!
But Trump has not yet left office! Combine that with the fact UN watchdogs have reported that Iran has stockpiled over 12 times more enriched uranium than what is allowed by the ill-fated 2015 nuclear deal and you have a recipe for action!
Just yesterday, the Israeli Mossad took care of Iran’s top nuclear scientist and head of the nuclear program in Iran. The Iranian regime is furious, and things in the Middle East could heat up to levels never seen before. Iran may be patient enough to wait upon what they hope will be a transition in the White House, but it is likely this will go without retaliatory action.
So, was Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was in the Middle East last week to discuss this action and further plans to contain Iran’s nuclear ambitions? Is the Saudi Crown Prince, with whom Pompeo and Israeli PM Netanyahu met with last week, involved in those plans? What, if any, part will the Saudi Kingdom play in keeping their arch enemy, Iran, at bay?
We don’t realy know what is going on behind the scenes, but we are certainly able to peer through Scriptural lens at what’s happening in our world and know that things are in line with what Bible prophecy tells us to expect. As believers, we live in exciting times! We have read the book and we know how it ends!
Are we seeing the real life depiction of those things? If so, our time here is very limited! Are you ready to be taken from here?
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.~1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
