Politics, Israeli Elections and World Events in Perspective

On a very rare weekend in which to focus solely on what the Lord put before me, I was blessed to work on tour and teaching plans for our Israel trip in November, and also to tune in to most of the Understanding the Times Conference. (See my review in yesterday’s post.)

I was also fortunate to spend a great deal of time in God’s Word, seeking to understand, from a Biblical perspective, what we’re seeing in the Middle East. As I contemplated Israeli elections that remain up in the air, and the reality that what Netanyahu and Trump have done to forge relationships with moderate Sunni nations (while showing strength in the Middle East) may be all for naught very soon, I was reminded of the state of each of our nations in end times. Israel, though strong perhaps, will still need the Lord to rescue them from a fierce invasion of Russia, Iran, Turkey and others. The US, meanwhile, plays no prominent part…and Israel will stand alone.

Those pieces are in place, I thought, but how do I communicate all I’m really thinking?

Then, Amir Tsarfati conducted a Middle East Update. I’m certainly not saying I have the depth of knowledge and understanding Amir does, but his report hit the nail on the head! Thus, I defer to his explanation and commentary.

One word of encouragement: our sovereign God is in control and we have nothing to fear. Keep in mind that prophecy is not meant to scare, but to prepare. If you are a believer, look up, for our redemption draws near! (Luke 21:28) With that, enjoy the update:

I’ll share more thoughts in the coming days, but let’s begin praying in earnest for a move of the Holy Spirit in both Israel and the US. We’re living in the last days, and we need guidance from God Himself to know how to navigate the twists and turns.
