Hollywood and Nashville’s biggest names are on the bandwagon. School districts, cities and states are jumping on the bandwagon. Now Congress is on the cusp of driving the bandwagon home. The Equality Act, which has already passed the House of Representative, is on its way to the Senate.
Just what is the Equality Act and its consequences? In brief, it is a piece of legislation which, if passed, will attempt to remove all distinction between genders, and will enable males who “identify” as females to share the same restrooms and locker rooms, unfairly compete in women’s sporting events, and destroy Christian freedoms and rights.
Franklin Graham is one of many who have spoken out in opposition, and he recently urged us to consider the ramifications of the passage of this act:
Here is the article he refers to: 7 Reasons Taylor Swift Shouldn’t Support the Equality Act
Now…why does it matter, and why am I featuring this on a blog dedicated to Israel and Bible prophecy? Thanks for asking!
The Bible tells us what the last days will be like. Romans 1:18-32 describes degrading passions in which men and women will exchange the natural function for the unnatural, and the truth of God for a lie. They will worship and serve the creature rather than the Creator. That is happening.
Jude, the half-brother of Jesus, warned of punishment of eternal fire for those who indulge in gross immorality, as was done in Sodom and Gomorrah. (Jude 1:7)
Lord, have mercy on us! Eternal fire will ultimately come. However, in this day, it is critically important for those of us who call Jesus Lord to rise up and stand against unrighteousness.
While I quickly admit neither Washington nor politicians will save us, I join Franklin Graham in urging you to contact your senators and let your voice be heard on this issue. It isn’t the ultimate solution, but the more we push back against evil, the harder evil has to work to be victorious!
More importantly, though, I exhort you to PRAY! Talk to the One who is sovereignly in control! Ask Him to change hearts and minds in our generation to seek righteousness. God is moved when His children pray to Him! Let’s plead His grace and mercy.
Time is short. We are living in the last hours of the last days. Faithfully be about our Father’s business!
