Anyone who has been to Israel has almost assuredly visited Mamilla Mall, and entered the Old City through nearby Jaffa Gate. If you’ve been there, the sites and sounds at the towering city walls near Jaffa Gate, as well as the entrance to the Holy City as you emerge through that gate, arouse your senses in ways that are difficult to explain.
