As we discussed yesterday, the UN Security Council passed a resolution, in essence, making Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria (Israeli territory) illegal.  Throughout Israel’s history, the US has supported Israel by vetoing anti-Israel resolutions.  A US veto would have shot this resolution down, though President Obama instructed the US ambassador to abstain.  The resolution passed 14-0, without a US veto.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded the next day, vowing that Israel will overcome.  Read the text of his speech to the Israeli people here.

Believers, our nation is not currently standing with Israel.  Let’s pray that the Trump administration reverses that trend, and fulfills promises to support Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East.  In addition, let’s be watchmen on the wall (Isaiah 62) as we pray for and support Israel individually.
