ISIS to Obama: “We will cut off your head in the White House”

While the Obama administration fumes over the Republican invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress, ISIS is making blatant threats to cut off Obama’s head in the White House and establish an Islamic state in America.  (See ISIS video here.)  Meanwhile, Iranian-controlled Hezbollah has unleashed attacks on Israeli soldiers on Israel’s northern border.

Despite blatant threats to the American homeland and to our president, America’s leadership seems to be asleep at the wheel.  Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East, not only continues to be attacked by terrorist groups and the Iranian regime, but they continue to come under scrutiny before the UN and the International Criminal Court.  Neither country is safe as long as attacks and threats are being levied against either.  Yet, the Obama administration:

  • Insists on negotiating with an Iranian regime who is pulling the strings on terrorist operations (such as Hezbollah’s recent attack on Israel) and marching steadily toward nuclear capabilities.
  • Continues to find ways to run up additional national debt (such as funding the promise to make community college free to all) while shrinking our military to dangerously low levels.
  • Increasingly pressures Israel to accept a peace deal with the Palestinians that would create undefensible borders and put them at perilous risk of attack.
  • Refuses to meet with Netanyahu while he is in Washington DC.

Very consistently over the past few years, we have witnessed our government turning its back on Israel.  Subtly at first, but very blatantly in recent times.  Likewise, we have witnessed moral collapse to the degree many never thought possible.  Almost 60 million abortions since Roe v Wade, illicit drug use made legal throughout our land, same sex marriage accepted (and legalized) across our country.  And now, terrorist groups making bold threats against a president who has proven that there is no such thing as a red line.

Indeed, it seems that this administration is playing with fire in so many ways.  Though we are to be wise in the selection of government authorities, Scripture is clear that God appoints and ordains rulers to accomplish His plans on this earth. (Daniel 2:21, Romans 13:1, others)  God used evil rulers, such as Nebuchadnezzar, to accomplish His purposes.  He allowed the evil tyranny of evil men such as Hitler and Stalin in order to fulfill prophecy.  In our day, He may use ungodly leaders to take us down paths we do not want to go, and paths that may destroy us.  All as a result of sin.

The fact is that we live in a sin-cursed world, and we are seeing it played out in vivid color these days.  Bible prophecy tells us:

For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
~Mathew 24:37-39

Indeed, we are seeing a lack of understanding of the times.  In Noah’s day, he warned the people of a coming judgment, yet they scoffed at him.  Likewise, today we have scoffers, those who don’t believe in a coming judgment, and those who seem to be pushing us ever closer to that judgment.  Will we be like Noah?  Will we continue to prepare for the coming judgment, despite the scoffing?  Will we continue to walk a righteous path, though our laws get bent so badly that any and every evil thing becomes “legal?”  Will we stand up and tell a dying world to “get into the ark?”

Jesus is our ark of salvation, and He is our only hope in a world spinning out of control.  As believers, we have absolutely nothing to fear, as our Blessed Hope has not only redeemed us from our sinful state (2 Corinthians 5:21), but promises to redeem us from this sin-cursed world (1 Peter 1:17-21).  So, be bold and courageous, dear saints!  But pray fervently for our world’s leaders, particularly our president and congressmen, and for the peace that only our Lord Jesus Christ can deliver.  As today’s news attests: the world is lost and hopeless without Him.
