What is “Appropriate” to Hezbollah?

Last week, Hezbollah launched two rockets into Israel from Syria, after which the Israeli Defense Force responded by targeting Hezbollah military targets in strikes of its own.  Tensions are definitely heightened and Benjamin Netanyahu continues to assert that “nobody is immune from our intention to foil attacks against us.”

According to Reuters, Hezbollah’s leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah indicated Hezbollah’s intentions, stating:

“We have the right to respond in any place and at any time and in the way we see as appropriate.”

That pronouncement was met with celebratory gunfire as it was broadcast live on Arabic news channels.

The key question, then, is:  What does Hezbollah (a terrorist group) consider “appropriate?”  Is it “appropriate” for Iran to supply weapons and ammunition with which to antagonize Israel?  Is it “appropriate” for Hezbollah and other radical regimes such as ISIS and Iran to use civil war-torn Syria as a launching pad for attacks into Israel?  Is it “appropriate” for Israeli soldiers to continue to be attacked while performing routine guard duty on the Golan Heights?

I’m sure the answers to those questions depend upon which side of the fence one sits.  In a terrorist mindset that vows to wipe Israel off the map, kill infidels, and establish a world-wide caliphate, perhaps those activities are looked upon as “appropriate.”  In the mind of any civilized people group, those are not “appropriate” actions.

However, the supreme authority is our Sovereign God and His Holy Word.  Genesis 12:3 makes it clear that those who bless the descendants of Abraham, through the line of Isaac and Jacob (Israel), will be blessed.  Those who curse Israel will be cursed.  Likewise, Joel 3:2 has strong warning for those who wish to scatter God’s people and divide (or attempt to devour) their land.

Stand with Israel, dear friends!  And pray that our nation, and others, will do likewise.  You don’t want to be on the wrong side of that equation!
