Hi friends! Fasten your seatbelts because the ride might get a bit bumpy today!

In recent months, I have been chastised for the stance taken against Replacement Theology. Details are not necessary, but I will say this: it is more important to stand for the truth of God’s Word than it is to avoid chastisement. Though none of us have perfect understanding of God’s Word and God’s ways, Scripture is abundantly clear that God has not given up on or forsaken His uniquely called people (the Jews). Nor have God’s promises to Israel and the Jewish people been transferred to the church. The church has not replaced Israel. Read Romans 11 where the apostle Paul makes that abundantly clear.

Furthermore, God promised His people their own land, and that land is Israel! Study God’s covenant promises to Abraham regarding land in Genesis 15 (especially verse 18) and Genesis 17:1-8. The prophet Ezekiel wrote of the Jews return to their OWN LAND in Ezekiel 36. (Very clearly spoken in verse 24!) God’s Word is replete with references of God’s covenant with Abraham (and others) being everlasting! That means FOREVER! (Examples: Genesis 17:7, Genesis 17:19, 1 Chronicles 16:17, Psalm 105:10, Ezekiel 16:60.) When God cuts covenant with His people, He never reneges on His Word! He is faithful!

The argument for Replacement Theology often includes this: there are well-known theologians who hold that position. That is true…some do. But many others don’t. Who’s right? Frankly, it doesn’t matter how many sit on each side of the issue. Scripture is clear and, in this case, there is simply too much Biblical evidence refuting RT. We are wise to stand on the truth of God’s Word rather than the philosophies of man. (Colossians 2:8)

Replacement Theology is dangerous and here is why:

Friends, when confronted with a different doctrine, evaluate what God’s Word has to say, regardless of the man speaking it. Dig in and study it to determine if others are attempting to select Bible verses to fit their narrative or if the whole of the Bible forms the foundation of the theology. Anyone can gather random verses to “support” their theory. But when Scripture is used to interpret Scripture (rather than used to support man’s ideas), you can be sure it is sound doctrine.

Though others may chastise you, take your stand on the side of God’s Word and refuse to compromise!
