The United Nations was established in 1945 following World War II with the express purposes of maintaining peace and security around the world and promoting international cooperation. The hope of peace and harmony among nations was a noble goal, but something happened along the way.
In 1947, the UN adopted Resolution 181, recommending a “partition plan” whereby the British Mandate (aka “Palestine”) would be divided between Jews and Arabs. (Important to note: Palestine referred to the Jews at that time!) The Jews agreed, the Arabs rejected it (wanting more). When the British pulled out of Palestine, Israel declared statehood in May 1948. Struggles continued over how the land would be divided. The Arabs didn’t want any Jewish state, so Israel was attacked repeatedly, beginning the day after declaring independence and again in June 1967.
Both of those encounters ended very poorly for the Arabs, as the ragtag band of Jewish warriors thoroughly defeated massive armies from Egypt, Syria and elsewhere. Neither the UN nor any nation other than the US stepped in with meaningful assistance to Israel as they battled the giants of the Middle East. Miraculously, Israel won decisively, took vast amounts of territory, including the West Bank and the Sinai Peninsula, only to return them to Arab possession for the promise of peace. Peace never came, and the UN never intervened except to pass resolutions blaming Israel for the conflicts and urging them to play nicely in the sandbox! (Reminder: Israel did not start those wars!)
The 1970’s and 1980’s featured resolutions, in essence, labeling Israel as the aggressor (though they didn’t start wars), and pressing the Jewish state to repatriate “Palestinian refugees.” Reminder: Israel was known as Palestine until 1963 when the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) was birthed and began to wrestle the term “Palestine” from the Jews to apply it to Arabs living in the territory. Not so subtly, the UN became a platform through which the PLO agenda could be fostered and advanced.
Following the Oslo Accords in 1993 which established self-governing arrangements but kicked the can of resolution of the issue down the road, the UN General Assembly began adopting annual resolutions against Israel in attempts to force a Palestinian state (declined by the Palestinians every time it was offered).

The situation grew more alarming over time. Between 2013 and 2024, the UN General Assembly passed 171 resolutions criticizing Israel, while issuing only 77 to the remaining 190+ UN member nations. The accompanying diagram shows the tally for 2025.
It doesn’t stop there, it only gets more reprehensible. If you caught even a glimpse of the atrocities carried out by Hamas during the October 7, 2023, attack on Israelis, you know those degenerate perverts carried out the most heinous sexual crimes imaginable and proudly videotaped it for the world to see. I won’t go into detail but just consider what weapons of war used in the most private places would be like. Multiply that 100-fold and you may still be miles from the realities that took place that day.
Despite that, who gets accused of sexual crimes against humanity? Yes…Israel! I don’t claim that every Israeli soldier is perfect, but there is no evidence I’ve seen proving such acts by IDF soldiers against citizens of Gaza, Lebanon, or anywhere else. Most certainly any such atrocity would be isolated and not common to the force, as it was with Hamas. (If it happens, the perpetrators should be punished, regardless of nationality or people group!) Below is Israel’s reaction to the accusation from the UN:

We haven’t even touched on the constant accusations from countries such as Iran, who just accused Israel of war crimes, or the condemnations issued or atrocities carried out by UN sub-bodies such as the Human Rights Committee and UNRWA (who had employees working with Hamas). It is fierce and it is unceasing.
Friends, we live in a fallen, sin-sick world. Satan is real and he attacks what God loves most: His uniquely called people (the Jews), as well as His beloved children of faith (Christians). To be certain, neither Jews nor Christians are perfect. This isn’t about propping Israel up as the perfect country, government, or military. It is about calling out the evil perpetrated over and over again against the Jewish people, simply because they are Jewish!
BTW – Christians are being slaughtered in countries around the world, as well, usually in the name of Allah. That, too, is atrocious. But no people group on planet earth has faced the extreme, constant threat of annihilation as the Jews. It is for that reason God’s Word teaches us to pray for them (Psalm 122:6-9, Isaiah 62), bless them (Genesis 12:3), stand with them (Ezekiel 33), and comfort them (Isaiah 40).
Let’s be obedient to do so!
