Monday night’s initial dinner meeting between President Trump and PM Netanyahu and their staff seems to have been a 3.5 hour friendly affair. Tuesday, Netanyahu and his team continued meeting with other American cabinet members and US officials.
One of the highlights was the Memorandum of Understanding regarding cooperation on the AI and energy fronts. Netanyahu’s team met with Doug Bergum for official document signing. Also, an unscheduled second meeting of PM Netanyahu with President Trump and VP Vance also occurred.
Though mum seems to be the word on any negotiations, there were undoubtedly talks regarding Middle East peace, including with Iran and with Hamas. The IDF, meanwhile, continues to pound Gaza, particularly after the ambush in northern Gaza that killed 5 Israeli soldiers and injured at least 14 others.
The cooperation between Israel and the US appears to be at an historical high. Netanyahu has officially nominated President Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize and later presented the President with a specially crafted mezuzah, apparently made from a small piece of an unsuccessful Iranian rocket molded into the shape of a B-2 bomber. Definitely the most unique mezuzah I’ve ever seen!
So, what is our job as Christians? To pray for the peace of Jerusalem! As noted yesterday, peace with Iran and their proxies such as Hamas seem out of the question. But God…
May He lead and direct the Trump and Netanyahu administrations in the way they should go, and may the mighty hand of God grant favor to His uniquely chosen nation. Keep praying, friends! We never know what might be hinging on the faithfulness of God’s people!
