Dear friends, tomorrow is the day 29 of us have been awaiting for months now! We intentionally keep the group size rather small in order to build relationship and unity within our group. Though some tour guests are joining from as far away as South Africa, the UK and Canada, we have connected via Zoom to begin building our “family” that will EXPERIENCE ISRAEL together!

Indeed, we are going up to the mountain of the Lord! In part, Isaiah 2:3 says:

“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths.”
For out of Zion shall go forth the law,
And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Though the context is slightly different, there is a principle at play here: We learn of His ways when we walk in His paths (literally and figuratively), and the word of the Lord goes out from Jerusalem. That is what makes going to Israel so very powerful! If you followed along in our study, we touched on the idea that Israel is the custodian of all we value as Christians: God’s Word, the prophets, the Messiah, etc. It is a very exciting thing to witness the Lord’s work in the lives of those who visit the Holy Land. I can hardly wait for our feet to stand firmly in the gates of Jerusalem! (Psalm 122) Something special happens there!

In Amir Tsarfati’s recent teaching, Judaism, Zionism and Antisemitism, he spoke of Israel’s fulfillment of destiny as a light unto the nations, thus leading to the Isaiah 2:3 passage (quoted above).
