What Happens When Gift-Giving is Done?

The gifts have been opened, only leftovers remain from Christmas dinner, the house is quiet, and the tree is now barren of packages. What does the day after Christmas bring for you?

I pray it is great joy and a sense of thankfulness for family, friends, and God’s goodness. Many will experience satisfaction. Others will not. For some, the joy of the Lord fills every corner of the heart and mind. For others, there is pain and loneliness and longing for meaning. There is a void that simply cannot be filled.

Well friends, today could be the day you receive the greatest gift of all! I’m borrowing from a recent post by Amir Tsarfati and trusting that the Savior, in whose birth we celebrate in this season, will come alive to you.

After many years of great anticipation for God's promise to be fulfilled with the coming of the promised Messiah to Israel, it finally happened around two thousand years ago. The excitement was enormous mostly among those who waited upon the Lord by praying and meditating on His Word. The rest of the nation was far too busy with religion and tradition and missed the greatest ever move of God!

While holding baby Jesus who was brought by his earthly parents to be dedicated at the temple in Jerusalem, old Simeon prayed:

"Lord my eyes have seen Your salvation
Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples,
A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles,
And the glory of Your people Israel"
(Luke 2:30-32)

The apostle Paul realized that it's much bigger than just the arrival of the messiah to His earthly nation in their God-given land. In the heart of Athens, the capital of worldly wisdom (which is the ultimate foolishness according to Romans 1:22), he stood and declared:

"Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man's devising. Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead." (Acts 17:29-31)

Fast forward to the end of 2022. God is about to make a great move and according to His promise, the people of God are about to be taken to His presence before pouring His wrath upon this ungodly evil and wicked world. However, most of the church is busy with religions and traditions, denying this promise and ridiculing those who are holding on to it.

What about the rest of the world?

Once again people are busy with their earthly wisdom claiming that man is god and that "the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man's devising. They try to convince you that:
- You can do nothing and lack nothing
- You can choose your gender
- You can change earth's climate
- You can change the Bible
- You can find salvation through what you do now rather than what He did then.

"And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12)

The sad reality is that 90% of the people who claim to "know God" and "believe in Him" won't ever experience His presence at Hsi throne room, but rather remain here to be judged during the tribulation! Why? They were never born again, which is the only way to enter His Kingdom. (John 3:3)

Your choices now will determine your immediate future. Life is a choice. Choose Life! Choose Jesus!

He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:12)

Have you truly chosen life? Are you part of the 90% who “know God” and “believe in Him,” but have never truly turned your life over to Him? Have you played the “Christian” game without Christ as Lord?

Friends, the very greatest gift of all was born in Bethlehem, laid in a manger, and years later, died on the cross to provide atonement of your sins and mine. He rose from the grave to ensure that we too will rise with Him on that day when He comes down from heaven to snatch us from this world. If you don’t know Him personally, today is YOUR day to receive the greatest gift of all…eternal life with Jesus our Lord. Time is short. What will YOU do with Jesus?
