When God created the earth, He placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the middle of the Garden of Eden. After the Lord God created Adam, He commanded him to eat of every tree in the garden (including the tree of life) except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:9, 16).

Unfortunately, Adam and Eve ate of the very tree God commanded Adam not to partake. At that moment, sin entered the world and death through sin. Adam and Eve were evicted from the garden paradise created for them, and never again had the blessed privilege of eating from the tree of life.

That tree of life was meant to sustain forever, yet our sovereign Creator knew it would be pushed aside in favor of sin. So, His plan to send His Son to be the sacrifice for sin was pushed into necessity. Jesus overcame sin and death and we reap eternal life because of it, and NO ONE comes to the Father but through Jesus Christ.

But what about the tree of life?

Ahhh, consider this:

Those who believe in Jesus will again eat from the tree of life, and we will do so in the presence of the Creator! Our destiny is in paradise…eternally existing with the Lord our God!

What about you? Do you know Jesus? Do you believe He died for your sins so that you might have eternal life with Him forevermore? The alternative is eternity in hell, where there will be eternal fire that cannot be extinguished. Today is the day of salvation! Invite Jesus to be Lord of your life, and Savior from eternal damnation.
