Hi friends! If you are familiar with the Jewish calendar and the seven major feasts, you know that we are in the middle of the 8-day Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) that began Monday evening at sundown! It is a joyous celebration for Jews to this very day, as they look back at their redemption from Egyptian slavery. It is a time of rejoicing, when families and friends gather under the sukkah (tent) in commemoration of the temporary shelters they lived in during the exodus.
This feast, just like the previous 6, has profound prophetic implications as well! Jews look back and rejoice, Christians look forward to the fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles, a time when the prophet Zechariah says we will join together with all the willing nations of the world to worship Jesus Christ our King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Wow…what a day!
There is special insight when we consider the Feast of Tabernacles from a Jewish perspective, and One for Israel provides just that! Faithful Jewish believers in Messiah help us see deeper into the significance of Sukkot. Enjoy!
