There is order to everything God does. He ordered the days of creation in Genesis 1, the relationship between man and woman in Genesis 2, the building of the tabernacle in Exodus 25-27, and many other examples throughout Scripture.
There is a particular matter of order, though, referenced in Romans 1:16:
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Did you notice the order described there? Yes…the Jew first, then the Greek (Gentile).
So what are we to make of that? Does that mean Jews are more important than Gentiles, or does it mean God simply has a particular order of things?
Eroz Soref, founder of One for Israel, provides an excellent response to that question. Find out here what “to the Jew first” really means. Enjoy!
