Welcome back friends! We’ve now pushed from shore on the rickety raft that will take us on the next 4-year American journey. The new administration is already showing its stripes and we are reversing course 180 degrees from the pathway that granted us religious freedom, sanctity of life, and unwavering support of Israel. Already:
- Christian voices are being censored and blocked on MSM and social media platforms
- Biden’s Inaugural Committee has facilitated donations to Planned Parenthood and LGBT organizations
- The Biden administration, prior to inauguration, had already begun talks with the Iranians to return to the JCPOA (Iran nuclear deal).
It’s a far cry from where we’ve been. Add to that a pandemic that has virtually an entire nation either locked down or living in fear, and you have a recipe for control. When tyrants rule, fear is the best means of control, and control they have! The Democrat party is turning more socialist every single day, and they now rule both the presidential office and Congress. America, the last bastion of hope and democratic governance, has become unmoored and lawlessness is gaining steam…just as described in 2 Thessalonians 2.
As stated before, America is NOT God’s time piece. His calendar is not set according to what happens here. However, just as we see signs of Christmas appear before Thanksgiving, so we see clear signs of the tribulation before the rapture. The downfall of America would certainly swing wide the big, broad open doors of the socialist agenda and New World Order. Our time is short here, dear friends, and we must be ready.
In a period of Israel’s history, God told the prophet Haggai He would shake all the nations. (Haggai 2:7). Earlier, Job was shaken, and he acknowledged God as the one who moves mountains and shakes the earth. (Job 9:5-6) The context is far different, but the point is this: if God is capable and has reason to shake the earth during the days of Job and Haggai, is He not capable of shaking nations today?
America has experienced convulsions before, but is about to be shaken as never before in our lifetime. There is a reason Israel stands alone in the end, and something must occur to remove the world’s #1 superpower from heights of glory in order to fulfill prophecy. Are we seeing it happen? The patriotic American in me says, “I certainly hope not!” But the Christ follower yearning to be in the eternal presence of Jesus says, “Maranatha, Lord come quickly!”
I have really good news, friends! Regardless of which it is, these encouraging words come straight from the heart of the Lord and are very relevant for today, so take them in and own them!
46 God is our refuge and strength,~Psalm 46:1-3, 7
A very ready help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth shakes
And the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;
3 Though its waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride….
7 The Lord of armies is with us.
22 Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you;~Psalm 55:22
He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
62 My soul waits in silence for God alone;~Psalm 62:1-2, 5-8
From Him comes my salvation.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I will not be greatly shaken….
5 My soul, wait in silence for God alone,
For my hope is from Him.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
My refuge; I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my glory rest on God;
The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
8 Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your hearts before Him;
God is a refuge for us.
Furthermore, the apostle Paul, who lived through the tyranny of Roman rule, said:
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?… 35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or trouble, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?… 37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.~Romans 8:31, 35, 37-39
Oh, fellow sojourners, the key is not to learn how to live in an evil world, but how to fix our eyes on Jesus, in the midst of this evil world, and allow Him to be our Refuge, our Strength, our Rock, our Salvation and our Hope! We “overwhelmingly conquer” when we rest securely in the love of Christ! Nothing can separate us from that! Not even an evil government in power in America!
We are victors in Christ, so let’s rise up in praise to the One who gives us the victory!
