6 Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, 7 while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings.~John 20:6-7
Exciting stuff from God’s Word today, my friends! The 20th chapter of John describes the scene at the empty tomb when Peter and John arrived to find Jesus gone. The first 5 verses tell us Mary Magdalene, who first found the empty tomb, announced to Peter and John that Jesus was missing! So, they ran to discover the scene for themselves.
Verses 6-7 reveal a very interesting detail: the face-cloth (“napkin,” in some translations) that had wrapped Jesus’ head for burial was lying separately from the other linen wrappings, and was neatly folded. But why?
I want you to hear the reason from my good friend, Pastor Saleem Shalash, an Arab pastor in Nazareth who loves to share about Jesus:
But did you notice what else Pastor Saleem is passionate about? Sharing the Gospel to Arabs…who will then provoke Jews to jealousy, as Romans 11:11-16 describes!
Okay…be honest: how many of us have ever considered that passage from the perspective of Arabs provoking the Jews to jealousy!?! I confess…I have never thought about it from that perspective, but Pastor Saleem (an Arab Christian!) most certainly has!
Friends, Jesus is Savior to all, and He intends belivers of every nationality and non-Jewish people group to follow Paul’s teaching to provoke the Jews to jealousy! So, we just heard a very Jewish message, from a very Arab pastor, about a very Biblical principle! That’s how God works! Amazing!
Now the kicker! We will visit Pastor Saleem on our tour to Israel in February! I truly do want you to experience this special treat, as he shares “insider information” about the work of the Lord in the Arab community, and the impact it has on Arabs and Jews alike!
In addition, we’ll also visit Palestinian and Messianic Jewish pastors every bit as “on fire” for Jesus Christ as Pastor Saleem! The Lord is alive and well in His chosen land, and Christians of all types are living their lives to provoke the Jews to jealousy! It is being lived out, and I want you to come and experience that amazing Biblical truth with us!
By the way, we’ll also step inside the Garden Tomb, just as Peter and John did, and we will go to Magdala, the hometown of Mary Magdalene (who first discovered the empty tomb), to experience another incredible discovery that proves the veracity of Scripture!
Find information about the tour by clicking the EXPERIENCE ISRAEL 2021 TOUR link at the top of this page. We limit our tour groups to 30 for the best possible experience, but we still have a seat available for you! Go with us to the land of the Bible. You will never be the same!
