As news swirls in the aftermath of Israel’s elections, many are trumpeting the end of the Netanyahu era. Having earned fewer seats than Benny Gantz’s Blue and White party, and falling short of garnering enough seats in other conservative parties, there appears to be no way Netanyahu will be able to form a coalition of at least 61 Knesset seats.
But neither will Gantz. So what will happen in Israel? There are a few scenarios, yet none of them seem to be very positive. One commentator likened the situation to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Despite 10 years of incredible growth and stability, and Israel coming into its own economically, militarily and in terms of world-wide respect, chaos suddenly reigns, and it doesn’t seem to matter who is “captain,” when it seems neither will be able to form a coalition.
It is difficult to imagine the path Israel may be headed down. The globalist agenda seems to be seeping in, and Israel’s political instability is leaking out to impact other areas as well.
Below are 3 articles that seem to highlight the uncertainty of what is happening in Israel. The first, somewhat positive (some would say wishful thinking), the others more reflective…taken together, illustrative of the urgent search for sanity. If you have interest in gauging the pulse of what is happening in Israel, take time to read these three articles:
- A Note on Tuesday’s Elections – an initial reaction by conservative journalist, Caroline Glick
- The Strategic Cost of Israel’s Political Instability – a more in-depth and contemplative reaction by Caroline Glick
- Amir Tsarfati’s post-election commentary – in context of Scripture
As Amir concluded, these are all merely evidences that God’s Word is true. God is God, and He could tarry if He wishes. However, it is easy to see that, short of God implementing a pause, we are hurtling toward the chaos the Bible describes when Israel is attacked (by Russia, Iran, Turkey and others), and when the world turns to one who promises peace…the Antichrist.
As believers in Jesus Christ, we have hope…the Blessed Hope! Look up, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, for our redemption draws near! (Luke 21:28)
PS: We all need encouragement today, so I hope you will tune into the Understanding the Times Conference. It is live-streamed at no charge from 8:45 am – 5:00 pm Central time in the US. (For those of us in Phoenix: 6:45 am – 3:00 pm.) Though it is streamed live, it will not be available for free after the conference, so tune in!
