Hi Friends. Reports are being confirmed, but sources indicate President Trump is about to announce the withdraw of all American troops from Syria.
If reports are correct, what does that mean for Israel and the rest of the Middle East? In short:
- Syria becomes a “free for all.”
- Russia will be in virtually full control of the area.
- Turkey will undoubtedly invade eastern Syria (where US troops are currently stationed) to wage war on the Kurds and to raid oil and gas supplies.
- Iran will have little deterrence in entering Syria from the east.
- Israel will be left to fend for herself on the northern border.
This would be a very significant “shoe drop” in opening the pathway for an invasion of Israel from the north…just as the prophet Ezekiel prophesied. (Ezekiel 38-39) For Russia and Turkey, it is all about the spoils indicated in Ezekiel 38:10-12. The Russian, Turkish and Iranian economies are all tanking, and eastern Syria has oil and gas. Once they are done pillaging Syria, Israel…who has the recently-discovered, gigantic gas fields…will be the target. God to Ezekiel 38 and you will find those nations listed (by their ancient names) as the invaders in the War of Gog and Magog.
Why is Trump withdrawing troops? We don’t know for certain, but the anticipated reason is that America was there to defeat ISIS and that is done. In reality, it likely has more to do with what’s going on domestically, as President Trump fights for his presidency, America’s economy, and his own livelihood. The US is likely in a bigger mess than any of us realize, and it could provide the reason why America will not stand with Israel in the end.
These are exciting times for us as believers, but scary times for those who do not know Jesus Christ. Exciting, because we know the God of Israel (our God, too!) neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4), but will watch over and stand up on Israel’s behalf once the northern invaders come (Ezekiel 38:18-23). Exciting, also, because God has promised that believers will not go through the wrath that is to come (1 Thessalonians 1:10). Specifically, that is the Tribulation. We do not know how close the Tribulation is because the Rapture must take place first! We, as believers, will be taken out of here to meet Jesus in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). Thus, we can celebrate and be excited as we see the signs of the times.
If you do not know Jesus personally as your Savior and your Lord, it is time to consider the importance of that. The Bible tells us we will all live for eternity in one place or the other: heaven, at home with the Lord OR hell, eternally separated from Him in a place meant for Satan and his demons. Heaven is real…and so is hell. You must choose.
So choose life with Him forever. Here’s how.
