Will the Aussies down under be the next to move their embassy to Jerusalem? If talks between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel and Prime Minister Scott Morrison of Australia are any indication, the Australian flag might be waving over their embassy in Jerusalem soon.
In addition, it appears the Australian PM will also officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
As imagined, the announcement met with great opposition from Arab countries. It was also a risky announcement, as Australia is currently in trade negotiations with Indonesia, a staunch supporter of the Palestinians. Leaders from 13 other Arab nations plan to write a letter to Morrison “expressing their concern.”
Pray for the Australian Prime Minister and his administration as they make important, yet difficult, decisions. Pray, as we do for our own country, that Australia will boldly stand with Israel. Every decision on the world stage is critical, but those who choose to bless Israel will be blessed. May Australia truly seek the blessing of the Lord!
