Hi gang! It’s worship time, but I want to say something about worship. It is not simply sharing a song together. Yes, music is capable of moving us to intimate places with the Lord. However, Romans 12:1 gives us a specific definition of worship:
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
You see, God doesn’t want simply our voices singing to Him in worship, though He does enjoy that! He wants more. He wants our entire lives, lived out in holy sacrifice to Him. That is acceptable to Him…and that is our “spiritual service of worship” to Him.
So, don’t get caught up in a beautiful “worship song,” thinking you are fulfilling God’s call to worship. Get caught up in presenting your entire body a living and holy sacrifice to Him. THAT is true worship.
Now, let’s express that worship (yielding of ourselves to Him), in song together. Let’s recognize that it is HE who is holy, and worship Him because of it. In Hebrew, “Kadosh Ata, Ein Kamocha Adonai” is “Holy are You, there is none like You, Lord.” Amen! Enjoy!
