Earlier today ISIS suicide bombers reportedly attacked Iran’s parliament and the mausoleum of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, killing at least 12 and injuring dozens more. ISIS has released videotape of the attack from within the parliament.

This is obviously astounding, leaving some to ask, “Why would one Islamic group attack another?” It is simple…yet complicated. I lack the time and space to provide adequate detail, but suffice it to say that Sunni Muslims (such as ISIS) are often bitter enemies of Shi’ite Muslims (such as Iran). It stems from an age-old conflict regarding who successive caliphs should be…Mohammed’s next-of-kin, or those politically aligned in the right place. (For more information, see The Qur’an and Muslim Sects.)
You can follow the events and study up on Sunnis and Shi’ites at your leisure. But I want to leave you with this today: Evil in our world often does not even recognize its twin brother. When Matthew 24 speaks of nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom, one of the Greek words used is “ethnos.” In other words, ethnic group against ethnic group. That speaks of at least two things: lack of nationalism, and a world without borders. Sounds very much like One World Order! After all, if your ambition is to create a worldwide caliphate (as it is for both Sunnis and Shi’ites), then you don’t really care if you are killing off those of the same religious persuasion. (Though it could be argued to some degree that the two have slightly differing religious views. However, both are Islamic, and both consider the Qur’an their holy book.)
Friends, we are watching the world stage being set for things that are described in the tribulation! But keep in mind, as believers in Jesus Christ, we look for the Blessed Hope…the return of our Lord to take us out of this world. That will happen prior to the tribulation.
It is time for us to be about our Father’s business, just as Jesus was (Luke 2:41-52). It is time for us to prepare for the coming of our Lord (Matthew 25:1-14). And, it is time for us to harvest the souls of lost family and friends! (John 4:31-35)
Invite friends and family, and join us at Harvest America! Join live if you are in the Phoenix AZ area. Join online if you are elsewhere in the world. Let’s bring in a harvest while there is still time! (I’ll share more about this timely event tomorrow, so come back for that!)
