The Spirit of the Lord is Moving in Israel!

I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
~Ezekiel 36:24-28

Friends, what if I told you there is a very significant movement in Israel to encourage Jews (religious and secular) to read the Bible…the entire Bible (not just the Old Testament)…verse-by-verse and chapter-by-chapter.  What if I told you Israel’s leaders are encouraging their citizens to do so.  Furthermore, what if I told you the Prime Minister himself is hosting Bible studies in his home.

You would say, “Wow!  That would be fantastic.  Let’s pray for that!”

Well, prayer is always a good idea, but these things are already happening in Israel!  There has been rising evidence for the past few years, but I recently read this report from Joel Rosenberg, a Messianic American Jew, now living with his family in Israel.  I am rejoicing!

I am reminded of the passage in Ezekiel 36 (quoted above) that indicates God’s intent to pour out the Holy Spirit on the Jewish people and replace their unbelieving heart of stone with a believing heart of flesh.  This prophecy will certainly be fulfilled, but the question is “How soon?”

Interestingly enough, Jews will celebrate Simchat Torah, the celebration of the giving of the Torah, immediately following the currently ongoing Feast of Tabernacles.  In Jewish tradition, a portion of the Torah is read in synagogue each week.  Simchat Torah celebrates not only the Lord’s giving of the Torah, but also the conclusion of the annual reading of the Torah.  How appropriate that we would focus on this idea of Jews being instructed to read the entire Bible, just as the Jews are celebrating the giving and reading of the Torah!  May God be glorified in and through His Word (Torah and Bible)!

Please read and be encouraged by Joel Rosenberg’s article linked below!  And keep looking up, for our redemption is drawing near!

Have you heard that Israeli leaders are urging Jews to read through the entire Bible, verse by verse, chapter by chapter? Amazing, but true. Here’s the latest.  (Joel Rosenberg’s blog, October 17, 2016)
