Did you know that in 2012 roughly 25 million voter-eligible Christians failed to show up at the polls? Couple that with the fact that in the last 4 presidential elections only about 5 million votes (on average) separated the candidates. Wow…what a difference we could make in America!
Are you one of the 25 million?
Christian friends, our nation is in a mess, but there is still time for followers of Christ to make a tremendous difference. I don’t believe God has given up on our nation. I believe he is slow to anger and judgment, but America cannot continue down paths of unrighteousness and expect our sovereign Lord to turn a blind eye.
If you are not registered to vote, please click here, or visit your local post office or DMV location to register. The deadline for most states’ primary elections are probably past. However, there is still time to register for the General Election…but do so quickly, before those deadlines pass as well.
If you are already registered to vote, please commit to vote…then show up and vote your values. Certainly, we need a president who will lead our country in righteousness…and hopefully a candidate will emerge who will do that. However, there is more at stake in this election season than just the president. Be an informed voter, and align your ballot choices with values from God’s Word.
If you have not done so already, I hope you will jump on board the prayer effort led by Franklin Graham. His Decision America Tour is making stops at every state capitol in America to urge Christians to live out their faith at home, in public, and at the ballot box. If he has yet to visit your state, why not put the date on your calendar and join thousands of others in your state, as Franklin leads our nation in prayer! (Tour schedule)
Finally gang, Thursday May 5 is the National Day of Prayer. Get involved…and get your church involved! Prayer is the key, and what better way to live out our faith than that! Here’s some info about the National Day of Prayer:
Come on Christian soldiers! Let’s go to battle on our knees…then at the ballot box!
