This is a heavy week, my friends. As noted yesterday, we witnessed drama in the Clancy murder trial that illustrates just how sin sick our nation is. As American Christians, we grieve the lack of godliness in our nation these days. It is heavy every time we witness what is happening to the moral fabric of our country. If nothing else, that would make this a heavy week.
But unfortunately, there’s more. Tomorrow marks the 1-year anniversary of the brutal murder of Charlie Kirk, a husband, a father, a leader, a patriot, and a Godly man blessed with wisdom beyond his years. There is a hole in the fabric of America’s greatness, and it was left when a radical gunman ascended a rooftop, took aim with a high-powered rifle, and took the life of Charlie Kirk. If nothing else, that would make this a heavy week.
But again, there’s more. On Friday, we commemorate the mass murder of thousands killed in radical Muslim terrorist attacks on NYC’s twin towers, the Pentagon in Washington DC, and the flight knocked off course, likely headed for either the White House or the US Capitol building but crashed in Pennsylvania. As a nation, we mourned and vowed “Never again.” Now, 25 years after September 11, 2001, we have a radical Muslim seated in the mayor’s office of NYC. We say we remember, but I’m not convinced facts totally bear that out.
There is a common theme here: murder. Yes, it is the murderous loss of life that we grieve. But I wonder if we also grieve the murderous destruction of America’s foundation. Make no mistake, America was founded by men who were fully committed to Biblical principles when they crafted our nation’s governing documents. They were men who diligently sought the Lord as they labored together to forge a nation built for a particular people.

Believing friends, take some time to ponder his words. Let’s be about sharing Christ with others, then together, let’s commit to do everything in our power to bring America back to its founding roots. There are many things we can do, but did you know if every Christian simply engaged in our electoral process and voted their values, our elections would never be close!
Please commit to know your candidates, then vote your values this November. If Christians continue to neglect getting involved in the public square, our government will be overtaken by those who hold to different values, and we will soon find ourselves lacking the protection to even speak and live as Christians in America.
