Netanyahu is in Washington DC. What’s Happening?

While a team of Israeli negotiators were in Qatar working toward a peace deal between Israel and Hamas yesterday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made his way to Washington to meet with the Trump administration.

As of this writing, we are yet to hear results of the dinner meeting including Prime Minister Netanyahu and his entourage, and the Trump team including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Peter Hegseth, Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, Chief of Staff Suzie Wiles and other national security personnel.

What we know with some certainty is that the dinner meeting lasted 3.5 hours, both sides hinted at expanded peace in the Middle East, Witkoff signaled a potential peace deal between Israel and Hamas, and Netanyahu has officially nominated President Trump for a Nobel Prize.

Breaking news in the early morning hours will likely reveal more details, but let’s put it in Biblical perspective. It is highly unlikely that lasting peace with Iran or any of its proxies will come to fruition. How do we know that? The Bible is more accurate than tomorrow’s news! According to Ezekiel 38, a time is coming when Iran will join forces with Russia, Turkey and a couple of north African entities to invade Israel from the north. And that time is not far off!

If you have not read Ezekiel 38-39 recently, I highly encourage you to do so with one eye on Scripture and the other on current events. The stage is being set.

But does the threat of a northern invasion mean there is no hope for peace? Absolutely not!!! (Notice I said no LASTING peace is likely.) A thorough reading of Ezekiel 38 tells us that, at the time of the northern invasion, Israel will be living in safety and security (verses 8-11). How can that be?

I am not a prophet, but I love studying the prophet Ezekiel! Some Bible scholars believe Israel’s safety and security will come via earthly happenings such as a strong military (which Israel has proven to have) and the help of other nations (such as the US). Right now, Israel and the US are in lockstep as closely as they have ever been, and America just struck the fatal blow to Iran’s current nuclear abilities after Iran took a pounding from the IAF (Israeli Air Force).

At this point, Israel and America are world powers, but in the end, Israel will need the power of the Almighty to withstand the coming invasion. But let’s get back to current events…

With talks of peace in the Middle East, it is possible that Ezekiel’s prophecy is being fulfilled! With peace comes safety and security. Currently, Russia has its hands full with Ukraine, Turkey is struggling financially and politically, and Iran is crawling out from under the rock of decimation. Give them time and they will coalesce into the force that will invade Israel from the north.

Call me nuts, but I think we’re looking at a new dawn in Israel. One in which the tiny nation thrives, and one in which Christians and others flock in record numbers to visit the Holy Land that has been slammed shut due to Covid and war. Those of us who love Israel and cannot stay away are on the brink of fantastic days ahead!

Keep your eyes here. There are rumblings and I believe tour experiences are just around the corner! It will be the safest, most secure time ever…and having gone through all they have gone through, a trip to Israel will be so much more than simply seeing the sites! Plan now to join us on a wonderful adventure!

Meanwhile, please pray for talks that continue in DC over the next few days. Netanyahu will be in Washington most of this week and it is wall-to-wall meetings. May God bless the negotiations that are happening, and may His favor rest squarely upon His uniquely-chosen people…the Jews. These are exciting times and we can be part of it! Pray…pray…and keep on praying, friends!
