Floating in the Dead Sea, then Up to Jerusalem!

A year ago, a wonderful group of tour guests journeyed with me to Israel and wonderful memories were made! There are many reasons we are grateful for that, not the least of which is it serves as a way to “visit” Israel while the war with Hamas continues. Our February 2024 trou group would be there now, if not for that. So, we’re doing the next best thing: rewinding last year’s tour!

After the bus ride south from the Galilee area to the Dead Sea area, stopping along the way to see various sights (such as Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found), it was time for some fun! The Dead Sea is a perfect spot for fun, as it is literally impossible to sink in the mineral-rich water. It is also fun to cover oneself in mud, which makes skin as smooth as a baby’s bottom! We all come out a decade or two younger!

Then, as play time ended, we headed for a key destination: Jerusalem. Seeing the city for the first time is often incredibly moving, bringing some to tears. There is also a very special way we enter the city. But you’ll have to read below to find out more about that!

  1. Our tour group stopped at Ein Bokek for short stay (a little over 12 hours). During that time, I visited the nearby Dead Sea beach. Upon arrival in the afternoon, I visited the beach and washed my hands with the Dead Sea water. The next morning, really early, I returned to the beach, enjoyed the breeze and witnessed the sun rising on the distance. I am thankful to the Lord for the great experiences and discoveries.
