What we hear on the news and what is confirmed and verified by actual video, audio and other intelligence are often two very different things. When mainstream media tells us that Israel is targeting civilians in the Gaza Strip, it is a lie. When they tell us there is no gas to fuel hospitals in Gaza, they are lying to us. When the media reports that Israel is indiscriminately killing uninformed Palestinians, it is a big fat lie!
How do we know these things? Take a look:
Despite the evidence, it is the lies that provide “justification” for pro-Hamas rallies that are happening around the globe. Throngs of terror supporters flood major cities around the world (including the US), and college campuses are filled with Jew-haters spewing lies, using the same rationale the media reports.
Two things come to mind:
- We must spread truth with as much zeal as terrorists and their supporters spread lies. Why are we so quiet? Why are we not up in arms regarding Israel’s right to defend herself, including eliminating Hamas completely. There is no way Israel can live in peace and security with Hamas, particularly after the barbaric animals proved the lengths they will go to destroy Jews.
- How long before the same maniacs cut loose on American cities? They are already either destroying or taking over European cities. Hey Europe, how are those open borders working for you now? Hey America, we’re next! If you don’t think terrorists are entering American borders, think again. Of the 8 million people expected to infiltrate by the end of the current administration, a huge number are 18–45-year-old men. Fighting age. Often from countries around the world who absolutely hate us! So, why do they come? Hmmmm….let’s see if we can figure that one out. Here is a hint: leaders of radical Muslim countries and terror organizations vow to kill Americans.
All while Christians are asleep at the wheel and our elected leaders are hell bent on destroying America.
Yes, I believe we should do something. People of good character, Christians or not, should be informed and willing to take a stand. We should be willing to flood the phone lines of our elected officials to express our views, then to hold them accountable (vote your values). We have lost the idea that our elected officials work for “we the people,” not the government. Yet, we continue neglecting to vote at all, or we keep electing those with the same horrible policies. The other side “wants it more” than we do.
But sadly, that’s only part of the equation. The bigger part is seeking to know and do the will of God! 2 Chronicles 7:14 is a well-known verse and we use it often when leading prayer. But do we really live it out?
14 …if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
~2 Chronicles 7:14
Each of us must stop and take stock. When is the last time I humbled myself before God? Did I pray and earnestly seek His face (guidance) and turn away from my wicked ways?
It appears we (collectively) have failed miserably. Why? Because there is no evidence of forgiven sin (we keep repeating it) and our land is far from healed. That is true around the world.
Believers, we can point fingers all we want at politicians and others, but until we get our own personal house in order, and until, collectively, the body of Christ (church) gets its house in order, we can be assured neither we nor Israel will see healing in our land.
There is a positive side, though. Luke 15 provides the account of the prodigal son who took his father’s wealth, squandered it on loose living, then found himself living with pigs. Isn’t that a picture of America? God granted us riches beyond what we ever deserved (Biblical foundation, for example), we squandered it by turning away from God to our own thing, now we find ourselves in a pigsty.
Yet, the story doesn’t end there! When the prodigal came to his senses, he knew his father knew best and he longed to return. But how? He simply had to turn around, and there was his father waiting with open arms! American Christians, our heavenly Father awaits with open arms! Our part is to come to our senses. Where are we ignoring Him and going our own way? How have we become so busy we don’t have time for Him? Are we an active member of the body of Christ? Once we come to our senses (confess sin!) and turn around (repent), our Father is there to restore!
THEN, we can humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways! The promised result: God will hear from heaven, forgive us, and heal our land.
Let’s do it before it’s too late!
