3:16 on 3/16

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

~John 3:16

Today, on 3/16, someone will be blessed by the most well-known 3:16 in Scripture: John 3:16! Consider carefully:

Today is the day to put your trust in the Son whose life was given to save you from your sin. Perhaps you think you have not really been that bad and don’t need salvation. Be reminded that we ALL sin and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) On the other hand, perhaps you believe you have been “so bad” Jesus would never give His life for you. Think again! In the depths of our sin, Jesus Christ showed His great love by dying for us. (Romans 5:8)

Sin brings death, but the free gift of God brings salvation (Romans 6:23) Because sin is deadly and we have no way to save ourselves, Jesus sacrificed His sinless life for our sinful one. (2 Corinthians 5:21) What a gift! But He will never force the gift on us, and it is always free.

How do you receive the gift? Simple. Confess with your mouth (admit you have sinned) and believe in your heart (put your trust in Him) and you will be saved! (Romans 10:9) God’s Word promises that when you receive Him (put your trust in Him), you become His child! (John 1:12)

You can pray to Him, using any words you have to invite Him into your life. However, if you can’t find the words to say, you can pray like this:

Lord Jesus, I know I have sinned and I cannot save myself, but I believe with all my heart that You died to save me from my sin. So, I admit my sin to You and I put my faith in You. Thank You for Your free gift of salvation and I accept it today. Teach me Your ways and show me Your grace as I learn to live my life differently. Thank You for loving me so much that You gave Your very life so that I will have everlasting life! Amen

Welcome to the family of God! 3:16 blessings to you on 3/16!
