Just when we think the height of ignorance has been reached, the current American administration seems to go above and beyond.
If reports are true and video coming out of Syria is accurate, it appears the American military is fully engaged with Iranian proxies in eastern Syria. Meanwhile, the US administration is set to ink a new nuclear deal with Iran any time now, that would release sanctions on Iran and give them a green light to nuclear weapons…which many believe they already have.
I find it difficult to believe that people in power are really that ignorant. Personally, I believe they have been given over to a debased mind, exactly as Romans 1:28-32 says:
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
Reliable sources (reported through Amir Tsarfati) indicate American drone attacks and possible helicopter attacks on IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp) targets in eastern Syria. This follows attacks on US military facilities in the region.
In the most recent update, it is believed that attacks between Iranian forces (or their proxies) and American forces are ongoing and possibly escalating.
Meanwhile, Israel has struck targets in western Syria, including weapon depots, missiles and UAV shipments. Video evidence appears to confirm this.
Here is Amir Tsarfati’s latest update, and he is reporting regularly on his Telegram channel.
Now, back to the passage in Romans 1 (above). When a person, group or nation fails to “retain God in their knowledge,” the result is the list that follows in verses 29-32. Our nation has slid from its Biblical foundation and, for a long time, it has been said that God will not put up with our waywardness any more than He put up with it from the Hebrew people in ancient times.
Has America crossed the Rubicon? Has God removed His hand of provision, protection and favor from America? If so, there are woeful times ahead, not only for America, but for the world.
However….
Believers, be of good cheer! Not because the situation in our world deserves or demands it. Be of good cheer because, as Jesus taught in John 16, He has overcome the world! I hope you will take a moment to read the entire chapter, but let me spill the beans by giving you the final result, when Jesus Himself said:
33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
~John 16:33
Moreover, that encouragement follows only a couple chapters after what may be the greatest words of encouragement in the entire Bible:
14 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
~John 14:1-3
What we’re seeing in the world MUST happen to pave the way for Jesus to fulfill that promise! He IS coming again, and 1 Thessalonians 1:10 and 5:9 assure us He will deliver us from the wrath to come!
Dear friend, if you have never put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, His promise to deliver from wrath does not apply to you. But I so desperately want it to! Now is the day of salvation. Now is the day to call out to Jesus and ask Him to save you, not only from that wrath, but from your own sin. All of us sin and fall short of the glory of God, but salvation is found in the blood of Jesus who died on a cross to save us from sin. Though He died, He rose again, so that we, too, might “rise again” from the death of sin.
