In January 2020, Israel, Cyprus and Greece, with stiff backing from the Trump administration, entered into the EastMed pipeline agreement. According to the agreement, a natural gas pipeline to be laid across the seafloor of the Mediterranean would supply natural gas from Israel to Europe.

This was big news because Europe typically gets most of its oil and gas from Russia, but with finds of gigantic natural gas fields off the Israeli coast, Israel was poised to become a major player in the natural gas market.

Fast forward one short year to early-2021 when, in one of his very first moves following inauguration, Joe Biden shut down the US-Canadian XL Pipeline that helped ensure America’s oil independence, and he released sanctions on Russia, allowing them to complete the Nord Stream 2 pipeline which will supply gas to Germany. As it turns out, that was a sign of things to come.

Skip forward another year and we witness the Biden administration stick a big, thick knife right into Israel’s back. On Thursday, a total reversal of policy made news. America has withdrawn support of the EastMed pipeline, with official announcements to be made to Israel, Cyprus and Greece soon. US sources indicate “Washington preferred to support energy projects which were more ”green-friendly,” with the U.S. instead proposing the use of interconnected power cables.”

Make no mistake: the current US administration is so focused on perpetuating the globalist agenda, they absolutely cannot care less about Israel. Not so with the vast majority of Senators and Representatives (though those numbers are beginning to falter as well), but definitely the case with the socialist administration sitting in the White House, the Cabinet and appointed positions, such as the (In)Justice Department. 

Woe to America. Scripture is abundantly clear about the consequences of blessing or cursing Israel. (Genesis 12:3) America is sliding down a slippery slope each time we turn our back…or worse yet, stab in the back…our most important ally (Biblically speaking).

Yet again, I say, “Rejoice!” When turmoil increases, lawlessness abounds, and globalism takes center stage, we know we are witnessing the birth pains Jesus Himself warned about in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21.

But read Luke 21 carefully. In detailing last days, Jesus says the heavens will be shaken and man’s hearts will fail because of fear. Christian friends, the love of Christ casts out fear! (1 John 4:18) For us, there is no fear because we will not bear God’s wrath upon this world! (1 Thessalonians 1:10)

Instead, we do as Jesus instructed in Luke 21:28:

Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.
