Yesterday, I promised good news, friends and today, here it is! In the midst of the doom and gloom, let’s take a moment to simplify things a bit.

How do we keep our sanity in a world where:

• Evil regimes march toward nuclear weapons
• A nasty virus continues to mutate every time we turn around
• “Experts” lie to us at every turn
• National leaders harbor evil intent
• Media prefer to paint false narratives rather than report the truth

Do you become weary in the midst of it all? Are you fed up and just ready to get on to something more positive and uplifting? Me too!

Well, there is good news! Jesus made perhaps the most comforting promise ever in John 14:1-3. Here it is in the New Living Translation:

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. ² There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? ³ When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

Ahhhh….doesn’t it sound comforting! “I will come and get you!” Yes, friends, He is coming for us…when everything is ready!

Think about this. Does He mean, “When everything is a total wreck, I’ll come get you?” Well, it may appear that way, but consider His perspective. Our Lord Jesus is, right this minute, preparing your place in His Father’s house! It’s not that He is unaware of what’s going on on this wicked planet, but that His joy is in preparing a place for us!

I recently hired an interior decorator to oversee a remodel project and decorate my home. Yes, I lived in the mess of construction for a long time, but then one day I entered my house and it was totally finished and the decorator had done her thing! I almost didn’t recognize my own home!

Multiply that earthly experience by heavenly compounds and imagine what our Great Interior Decorator is up to right now! On a grand, heavenly scale, He is making a home for us that is far beyond our comprehension! So what if we have to “live in the mess of construction” for a while on this earth! Boy, does He have a fantastic surprise for us when we arrive home!

See, it is a matter of perspective.

• Evil regimes reign? Maranatha…our Lord is coming!
• Coronavirus continues to wreck havoc? Maranatha…our Lord is coming!
• “Experts,” national leaders and the media lie to us? Maranatha…our Lord is coming!

¹¹ Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. ¹² He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

~Revelation 3:11-12

Hold fast, dear friends! We are about to become pillars in God’s temple, and we are about to have His name and His city written on His because we are His possession!

Comfort one another with these words:

 ¹⁶ For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. ¹⁷ Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

~1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Maranatha…our Lord is coming! Come quickly, Lord!
