US in Tit-for-Tat with Iran

Over the weekend, Iranian-backed Hashed al-Shaabi launched explosive-laden drones, aimed at US military positions near the Iraqi city, Erbil. This was one of over 40 attacks on US military installations since the beginning of the year, most of which have gone mostly unheeded.

Despite Joe Biden’s lack of alarm at the growing number of attacks, he did order a response, targeting airstrikes against Iranian-backed militia targets on the Iraq-Syria border on Sunday. Ironically, America did not target surface-to-surface missile batteries in the nearby Deir a-Zor district.

The weak response only emboldened al-Nujba, a terror group in the region, backed by Iran. In fact, Hezbollah in Iraq entered the fray as well, threatening, then following through, on a threat to use UAVs to attack US forces in response to the American action. That attack took place on the American base in the Omar Oil Field.

In response, the US attacked IRGC targets in eastern Syria, and now at least one US base is taking direct hits by enemy fire.

There is no calm on American bases in and around Iraq right now. Please pray for our men and women in uniform, asking the Lord for divine wisdom and protection, and for defeat of the evil forces that are growing against America. For far too long, we seem to have considered Iran Israel’s problem, while all along backers of the Iranian regime have shouted, “Death to America!”

Unless America begins to show strength again in the Middle East and around the world, expect American interests, and perhaps even our homeland, to be in danger of the evil intent of a radical regime intent on destroying America.

BTW – this is the same evil Iranian regime in which the Biden administration is working day and night to rejoin in a nuclear deal. Evil reigns, and it is time for God’s people to pray. Will you be a prayer warrior?
