In the Bible, the olive tree is used often as an object lesson, and olive trees are quite fascinating. If you have been to Israel, you have seen plenty of olive trees, and have likely eaten your share of olives. (There are dozens of varieties, and salad bars are replete with my favorite Israeli treat!)
Today, we’ll begin a short series on the olive tree and Hermana will give you an Olive Tree 101 lesson. However, when learning of olive trees, always listen for the spiritual lesson. God seems to have favored using the olive tree to teach us about ourselves! Enjoy!
PS: Longing to discover the secrets of the olive tree live and in person? Why not join us on our next EXPERIENCE ISRAEL TOUR, launching February 19! Find information here!
Fascinating. So cool to see the difference between the wild and cultivated trees. It brings a lot more understanding to why Jesus used this illustration. Thank you. 🙂
You’re welcome, Dee! Seeing these kinds of thing live in Israel makes your Bible come to life! Would love to have you join us in February! Blessings!
Yes, it does. By the way, what are the average temps in Israel in February? Will it be cold?
Typically mild, though depends upon the area of the country. It is also transition from winter to spring, so a beautiful time. However, there could be a chilly day. There is an avg temperature chart in the Trip Info on the tour page.
