A Jewish Family’s Response to Anti-Semitism

A few days ago I shared a bit about growing anti-Semitism in Europe, and closed with news of a current anti-Semitic act right here in my own hometown.

Well, I’m excited to tell you the local Jewish family turned evil into good!  On Sunday morning “dozens of neighbors, friends and family members showed up to drive out darkness with light, and paint words of love over hate.”  Indeed, the Simone family chose to celebrate their Jewishness by inviting others to join them in spreading love and joy.

A local news station reported on the celebration and I hope you will take a moment to read or watch the story here:

Friends, Family Gather at Home to Write Words of Love Over Spray-painted anti-Semitic Graffiti

In the words of one of their friends:

“There’s been a tone in this country recently where these things have become more and more frequent, and more and more permissible in some quarters, and that’s got to stop. We do so much better together than apart.”

Amen to that!
