Rhetoric is escalating from Palestinian officials in response to President Trump’s campaign pledge to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Stating that moving the embassy would be a “declaration of war on Muslims,” those officials vow to downgrade relations to the US, withdraw recognition of Israel, and are warning of a new intifada (uprising).
Palestinian leaders also recently met with Jordan’s King Abdullah to discuss steps if the US indeed moves their embassy.
Despite strong commitment during his campaign and supposed searches for a location in Jerusalem for the embassy, President Trump seems to have backed off from the assurance that he will definitely move the embassy, and the White House now says no decision has been made. Let’s pray the Trump administration takes advantage of the opportunity to show tremendous support for Israel by moving the embassy to the eternal capital of Israel…Jerusalem.
