This morning I told you the “bad news” about Iran. This afternoon, I want to share some good news!
On Tuesday (11/15/2016) the US House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly (419-1) to extend the Iran Sanctions Act for 10 years. The act enables Congress to “snap back” sanctions on Iran if/when they violate the conditions of the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, aka Iran Nuclear Deal). You can read about the decision here, and see if your Representative was the lone vote against the Iran Sanctions Act!
Of course, we know for certain they have already violated the agreement. Yet, rather than re-institute sanctions, the current administration transferred cash to Iran “as part of the deal.” Let’s pray that the new administration (and those to follow) will take a tougher approach to dealing with Iran’s blatant disregard of the agreement.
There is so much going on in our world today. Let’s fervently pray for our leaders. Pray for President Obama as he finishes out his term. May he make wise decisions, particularly relating to Israel. Pray also for President-elect Trump and VP-elect Pence. They have spoken favorably toward Israel, so let’s pray they remain true to their word and offer the support of America to Israel once again.
