Hi friends! I hope you are enjoying following along with our study, Why Israel Matters: Rightly Relating to Our Jewish Roots. We’re not done yet, but will take a break for a day or two to catch up on current events, and to align posts with the live study we’re doing with a small test group.
There was a very significant piece of news that surfaced a few days ago regarding a $10 billion weapons deal between Russia and Iran. If you know anything at all about the prophecy of Ezekiel 38, that should raise your antennae! Seems as though Iran is working toward the purchase of aircraft, tanks and missile systems from Russia. This is in addition to shipments of Russian S-300 air defense systems already underway to Iran.
Then, if that is not enough, Iran and China have supposedly signed an agreement to coordinate training and enhance military cooperation. While China is not a named ally in the Ezekiel 38 prophecy, it is not out of the question to believe they could play a part in helping to prepare Iran for that invasion.
But, let’s get back to the $10 billion Russian-Iranian deal. Both countries have economically depressed populations, while funds are directed toward military build-up. Russia is set on once again becoming a world superpower, though they have not achieved the financial stability to be able to build up their military to the level of modern-day superpower; and the Iranian regime pours funds into the apocalyptic aspirations while citizens suffer.
So, it brings to light an observation and a question. First, Russia’s military would get a very significant boost from a $10 billion deal! That provides plenty of motivation to sell, sell, sell! Secondly, the question: where will Iran get $10 billion to purchase military equipment? Well, the US definitely boosted their ability (if not financed it altogether). It is unclear just how much cash and gold were transferred from the US to Iran following the nuclear deal struck in July. Reports are anywhere between $1.3 billion and $33.6 billion.
Shockingly, the US is not only allowing Iran to develop nuclear weapons, but is funding military equipment that will carry nuclear warheads or protect nuclear facilities they are not supposed to be developing.
Here are the takeaways:
- The Russian-Iranian coalition that is necessary for the invasion described in Ezekiel 38 to take place is more and more firmly set in place each passing day.
- Russia and Iran could not care less about their citizens…it is all about military build-up.
- The US, of whom Scripture makes no definite reference in terms of the Ezekiel 38 Northern Invasion, continues to put itself on the wrong side of the Genesis 12:3 equation. (Those who bless Israel will be blessed, those who curse Israel will be cursed.)
- We are living, not in the last days, but in the final hours of the last days. (Need more evidence, check out Matthew 24, in which Jesus specifically answers the disciples’ questions about signs of the last days. Or, peruse 2 Timothy 3:1-5 then try to refute the signs of the times!)
These are exciting times for believers in Jesus Christ! Our day of bodily redemption (rapture) is coming soon! Let’s be found ready, my friends!
