Franklin Graham is calling us to pray. Pastors are calling us to pray. Other Christian leaders are calling us to pray. I’m on the bandwagon, and I encourage us to pray.
Joel Rosenberg published a piece entitled “BREAKING: FBI reopens criminal investigation of Hillary” Please read the article, in which, he too, calls us to pray.
I agree that our elected officials cannot save us. Washington cannot solve the problems we face. Our country is on a downward spiral, and it is spinning very quickly out of control. We need a great awakening. We need Christians to pray.
Why is this important? Many, many reasons but here are two:
- Our religious freedoms may soon disappear. The freest nation on earth will no longer be able to speak out against evil and unrighteousness, support Israel, or preach the Gospel. Right now, the Holy Spirit is restraining Satan and his evil forces. America is not the “end all,” but once we lose our religious freedom, will it bring forth a time when the Holy Spirit removes the restraint (raptures believers!) and allows our world to enter the tribulation?
- If/when America ceases to support Israel (which will eventually happen), our nation will automatically fall on the side of judgment. (Genesis 12:3, Joel 3:1-3)
That is all sobering news, and as Christians, we need to respond as such, by praying as we have never prayed before.
However, I want to conclude with this encouragement: for believers in Jesus Christ, we have nothing to fear. This world is not our home. Our citizenship is in heaven, and we are only passing through! Though we may witness a measure of God’s judgment upon our country, we will be saved from the wrath of God that will come during the tribulation…which may be just around the corner!
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. Declare these things!
