Decision America Tour: Oregon, Washington, Alaska

June has been a busy month for Franklin Graham on the Decision America Tour!  The tour moves far west…and far, far west…in the next few days!  The reality is that our entire nation is in need of a huge move of the Holy Spirit.  Franklin Graham is spearheading the charge by visiting every state in the US, leading us in prayer and encouraging believers to live out their faith at home, in public, and at the ballot box.

Let’s join him in the effort!  Attend the prayer rally in your state, or at least join with thousands of others in prayer as the tour moves through America.

Tuesday, June 28, 2016: Salem, Oregon

  • Only 25% of the state’s population attend church, pray, and read the Bible weekly.
  • Oregon consistently remains one of the most unchurched states in the nation, though Oregonians who identify themselves as “spiritual” are on the rise.
  • More than $3.5 milllion of marijuana was sold on October 1, 2015, the first day it was legal to sell the drug for recreational use.

“In one of the most liberal states in America, we have faith that You, O Lord, are still God!  We know the damage that illicit drugs cause, and we know that it won’t stop at simply marijuana.  This is a very significant problem, Lord, and we ask You, in Your mighty power, to bring about change.  We trust in You, and we need You.  Show Yourself strong.  Draw people across the state of Oregon to recognize and acknowledge Your love, grace, mercy, and sovereignty.  Cause them to pray, to fellowship with one another, and to seek You in Your Word.  Father, help them….help us all…to understand our “spiritual” identity in You and You alone.  Oregon could be the spark of a great revival and we pray You will bring that about.  Use Oregon for Your glory, O God!”

Wednesday, June 29, 2016: Olympia, Washington

  • Nearly 20% of the state identify as atheist or agnostic.
  • 1,033 residents died from drug abuse in 2012.
  • 46% of Washingtonians do not believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life.

“Most Holy, Righteous God, we acknowledge Your sinless life, sacrificed for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21)  Our hearts break at those who fail to believe that a perfect, sinless sacrifice was necessary for our salvation.  How we thank You for paying that incredible price for us.  Cause Washington residents to be confronted with that fact, and cause them to believe.  We also mourn for the 1,033 who lost their lives to drug abuse.  Every single day across our land, dozens die seeking fulfillment through illegal and/or prescription drugs.  We need You, Lord, we need You!  So many deny Your existence and we have come to accept that as “okay.”  Lord, forgive us for not standing strongly and firmly on Your Word and Your truth.  Give us boldness…and may believers in Washington lead the charge to bring our country to repentance.  Bless them, Lord, and use them!”

Friday, July 1, 2016: Juneau, Alaska

  • 31% of Alaskans profess to have no faith or particular religion.
  • Nearly half of Alaskans say they seldom or never attend worship services.
  • Alaska makes up 15% of the size of the entire country, yet it has only 0.2% of the population.

“Big places with small population are not lost to You, O Lord.  In fact, You have blessed Alaska with glorious scenery that shouts Your glory!  Indeed, You are clothed in splendor (Psalm 104) and You shout it out in the great state of Alaska!  Sadly, Paul warned us that some would worship the creation rather than the Creator.  (Romans 1:25)  Today, many Alaskans admit to having no faith in the Creator.  O Lord, that Your creation would reveal You as Creator.  Rather than worshiping nature, we pray Alaskans would turn to worship the Creator.  Number may be small, but we know You absolutely love the people of Alaska…so much so that You died for them to save them from sin.  What a beautiful place for revival to begin!  We pray a miracle will happen in that state and that Alaskans across that great land will come to find You as Savior and Lord.  May revival begin as You reveal Yourself in the beauty You have created there.”

  1. Pete says:

After living for 20 years in a remote cabin in Northern Alaska and worshiping with neighbors in ‘house churches’ in the wilderness, I have to dispute the 31% figure you mention. Maybe in Juneau where you are going or even Anchorage (the Seattle of the North) those figures would be close but in Fairbanks and in remote areas it is very hard to find a non-believer because we see every day of our lives the handiwork of God! My prayers go out to you on this mission to the North country.

    • Hi Pete! Thanks for your comment. Given the sheer beauty of Alaska, I agree that it is hard to know how anyone could deny our Creator God! Blessings to you for being an “Alaskan light!”
I got that statistic from a prayer guide provided by the Decision America Tour, and it is also illustrated here: (Franklin Graham and his team are the ones who will visit Juneau in a few days.) Whether high or low, I’m encouraged to hear of those in your area who have seen God’s handiwork and know Him as Lord. My prayers certainly extend on behalf of Alaska in the days to come. May the revival fire start right there in the remoteness of Northern Alaska and spread throughout our land!
Many blessings…and thanks for stopping by!
