First F-35 Aircraft Nearing Delivery to Israel

US-built F-35 for Israel

This past Wednesday in Ft Worth TX, the latest fighter jet built in the US for Israel was rolled out.  The US Air Force has flown the F-35 for a couple years now, and Israel will be the first nation in the Middle East to possess a fifth generation fighter jet.

Though built in America, fighter jets are often delivered as a “shell” to Israel, where they install arguably the world’s best avionics and weaponry.  Due to the agreements between Israel and the US, that technology is often shared with the US.  Thus, those who oppose military funding to Israel are also opposing advanced technology in return.  I believe it is safe to say that the military aid agreements between Israel and the US are very important, and even necessary, for both nations.

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman inscribed these words in the cockpit: “The best aircraft for the best pilots.”

Take a look at the pictures and a short article about the new Israeli F-35 that was just rolled out!

Have a great weekend!
