Israel: A Blessing to the Whole Earth

…and in you [Israel] all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
~Genesis 12:3c

One of God’s key purposes for the Jews is to bless all families of the earth. In many ways, we see that prophecy being fulfilled today.  Read here about Israel’s rapid response to worldwide tragedies.

For Israel, being “first on the scene” to render aid and to preserve life is common.  Yet, much of the world (including the UN) accuses Israel of being an apartheid state.  They are blamed for killing women and children when Hamas uses them as human shields.  The world overlooks the fact that those injured in conflict with Israel (including Syrians and Palestinians) are often treated in Israeli hospitals!

Indeed, IsraAid and other Israeli humanitarian efforts take place constantly…and why should we be surprised!?!  The prophet Isaiah predicted that surrounding nations (many known as enemies today) will one day recognize Israel as a beacon of hope.  Isaiah says:

Arise, shine, for your light has come,
    and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you [Israel].
For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
    and thick darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will arise upon you [Israel],
    and his glory will be seen upon you [Israel].
And nations shall come to your light,
    and kings to the brightness of your rising.
~Isaiah 60:1-3

Would you like a 30-second glimpse of a down-to-earth, real-life Israeli?  How about this IDF soldier bringing a smile to the face of a Palestinian toddler:

Dear friends, let’s be faithful to pray not only for Israel, but for Israel’s neighbors.  Though Israel is yet to see and recognize her Messiah, the glory of the Lord is there.  Israel is a beacon of bright light is a very dark region.  The Jewish state is the only democratic nation in the Middle East, the only nation where religious freedom truly exists, and the only nation where Arabs have the same rights as Israelis.  The Lord’s glory will continue to grow brighter in Israel and neighboring nations will one day see her light.

Let’s pray for an awakening to the Light in Israel.  May Israelis see the One True Light (Yeshua, the Messiah), and may the glory of the Lord that rises out of Israel shine brightly and draw Israel’s neighbors to saving grace in the Lord Jesus Christ!

Are you on board with me to pray?  Let’s do this faithfully!
