The UN is at it again. On Friday they adopted four resolutions condemning Israel for Human Rights violations. Not only are the resolutions absolutely ridiculous, but Israel was hit with 4X as many condemning resolutions as any other nation on the planet. Four times as many as North Korea who routinely tortures and murders its own citizens. Four times as many as Syria where 100,000 civilians have been killed and millions more displaced due to the evil ambitions of its president. Four times as many as Iran, a nation at the top of watch lists regarding persecution of minorities. Yes, Israel, a democracy where every citizen (including Arabs) have the freedom to vote, to hold jobs, and to be involved in civic activities. A nation whose laws protect minorities, and who employs the most ethical military in the world. It’s just crazy!
Here is the report from Fox News: UN says Israel, not Iran, North Korea or Syria worst violator of human rights
That, in a sense, is a sign of the last days, as the Bible tells us that Israel will stand alone in the end. (Zechariah 12:2-3, Zechariah 14:1-3, and others) If the UN has its way, that will happen sooner than later.
But still more signs are abundant in our world today. Bible prophecy is being fulfilled. Over the past few days we examined Signs of the Last Days and More Signs of the Last Days. But we’re not done! There are still more signs of the last days that are evident in today’s world.
Ezekiel 38:1-6 describes the coalition of people groups that will invade Israel in the last days. I’ve written in more detail previously (here, here, and here for example), so let’s just hit the highlights now. Russia and Iran will be joined by others from Turkey, Ethiopia, Libya and other Middle Eastern and North African nations in an invasion of Israel in pursuit of “plunder” and “spoil.” Given Israel’s newly-found oil and natural gas fields off the Mediterranean Coast, Russia’s insatiable quest for those resources, and Iran’s vow to wipe Israel off the map, the Northern Invasion certainly seems to be approaching reality.
Another sign is the rise of a One World Government and One World Economy, which we see rapidly rising. Key passages are found in Revelation 13:7 and Revelation 13:16-17. Indeed, the establishment of the United Nations and the European Union are initial attempts at gathering world power into a single governing entity. Meanwhile, our society is going “cashless,” leading to worldwide commerce via electronic means. That sets the world up for a global takeover of economics by the antichrist, and we are rushing toward that day.
But friends, do not be dismayed! Matthew 24:14 gives us an incredible prophecy about end times:
And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.
Jesus had just been asked by Peter, James, John, and Andrew (Mark 13:3) what signs would signal the end of time. He told them about false messiahs that would come, and about wars and rumors of wars. He warned that believers would stand trial, giving opportunity to share their faith. Then, He tells His disciples that the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the world and every nation will hear it! Revival will happen!
In this age of internet and satellite TV, there is not a spot on the planet that cannot be reached. That was never possible until our lifetime. Only now has it become possible that the whole world could be reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Romans 10:13-14 comes to life because of technology:
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
Yes, believing friends, the Gospel will go throughout the world…and that is happening in places no one thought possible. Did you know that evangelists are reaching into the depths of Iran, and that millions are coming to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ? Need proof? Check out Iran Alive Ministries for information and testimonies. Others are reaching into Saudi Arabia, and into other hard-to-reach places and countries we normally think are opposed to Christianity. But the Bible says that the Gospel will go to all. Whether they oppose it or not, all will have to make a decision about what they hear.
That leads me to this: with whom are we sharing the Gospel? We don’t have to travel the world to reach those who need the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Our neighbors, our co-workers, our families, and our friends are in need. How can they call on Him unless they believe, and how can they believe if they have not heard…and how can they hear unless someone tells them? In Romans 10, the verse that follows is this:
And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
As a result of the grace God has granted us, we are ALL called to share it with others. So, let’s get on our “beautiful feet” and go share the good news. Eternity is waiting on us!
