Okay, friends, I’m going to ask you to use your imagination today!  Pretend that you live in southern Israel right now.  Rockets are raining down at the rate of 1 per minute, and you and your kids have only seconds to get to a bomb shelter.  Kids in these parts are trained at an early age to run for shelter if they hear sirens go off.  Your government has warned you to simply stay in the bomb shelter.

Such is life in southern Israel right now.  But also in Israel right now, the IDF has launched Operation Protective Edge, where within hours Israeli air and naval forces have successfully targeted over 200 Hamas and Islamic Jihad sites.  40,000 reservists have been called up and tanks are on the Gaza border prepared for a massive ground attack, should their commanders give the command.

 

 

 

Also on Tuesday, a joint exercise of the IDF and Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency, similar to the FBI in America) successfully struck a vehicle transporting Hamas naval commander, Muhammad Sa’aban, killing the commander.

Israel’s military is world-class.  However, the God of the universe is the only true Hope of Israel and the world.  He is our peace, and in moments of terror and turmoil, we must be assured that He will never leave us nor forsake us.  Jesus is the prince of peace, so let’s pray that Israel and her neighbors would turn to the only True Source, and worship Him as Lord and King.
