Dear praying friends, I hope you are in prayer, as I am, for the peace of Jerusalem. Psalm 122:6-7 says:
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
“May peace be within your walls,
And prosperity within your palaces.”
There is anything but peace in Israel today. Palestinians are rioting and Hamas militants are launching dozens of rockets every day into Israel.
Earlier today, in one 30-minute span, 30 missiles were launched into Israel during the funeral procession of six Hamas members who were killed in a tunnel. The six militants were preparing to launch a terrorist attack on Israel when the Israeli Air Force successfully targeted the tunnel in which they were operating.
While Israeli citizens in the southern part of Israel are being told to stay within 15 seconds of their bomb shelters, Israel has dropped leaflets into the Gaza Strip warning Palestinians not to support militants or terrorists. The leaflets read: “The people who dig tunnels are a danger to you, your children, and your property. Do not sit idly by.” They were also given a phone number and email address to send confidential information regarding terrorists activities and plans.
Meanwhile, Israeli tanks have gathered at the Gaza border. (See photo above.) Israel’s security cabinet met for three hours, and have instructed the IDF to increase strikes in the Gaza Strip in order to put a stop to the rocket attacks. At least 1500 Israeli reserve troops have been called into action as well.
Tensions are high and wisdom is needed in these crucial times. Pray the Israeli leaders will be as the sons of Issachar, “men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do.” (1 Chronicles 12:32)
Thanks for stopping by…and let’s pray with diligence!
