Despite evil attacks from Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, there is a discouraging trend that pops up in various polls. The number of people who support Israel is shrinking. That’s primarily due to the number of young people who seemingly know very little about what the Bible says about Israel, but it is also true (to a lesser degree) among middle-aged and older adults.
Interestingly, though, polls also tell us that young men (under 30) are the most conservative they have been in over 50 years, and the younger generations are becoming more interested in going to church. Big halleluiah for sure, but I’ve got to wonder: If young men are increasingly conservative and young people are returning to church, why are those same young people less supportive of Israel?
Here’s one reason: Churches (in general) are not teaching their congregations the importance of Israel, and of Judaism as the foundation of our Christian faith. The reality is that without Judaism, there would be no Christianity. After all, the prophets, apostles, writers of Scripture and Jesus Himself were Jewish! No Jesus, no salvation, no Christianity!
It is imperative that we stand with Israel. There are many reasons, but even if there were none, the Bible commands it! In this day and age when the world quickly and easily turns against Israel, we need to know how to stand WITH Israel!
There are lots of resources available to teach, train and provide opportunities for us to do just that. Here are a few:
- If you are in the Phoenix area, I would love for you to join me as I begin teaching again soon! Keep your eyes here for more information coming in the near future.
- Make use of the great educational resources of One for Israel. Click on the “Go Deeper” button to find a treasure trove of resources.
- Follow sound Biblical social media influencers such as Amir Tsarfati who tell it like it is from a Biblical perspective.
- Step out of your comfort zone and meet Jewish people. Try going to a class or an event at a Jewish Community Center. (They are very welcoming.) Visit a Jewish bakery and engage in conversation. (Their pastries are to die for!)
- Go to Israel to see the land, meet the people and learn for yourself just how uniquely called God’s people are! Again, keep your eyes here, as we will have more news about tours soon.
God’s promise is to bless those who bless Israel, and that all the families of the earth will be blessed by Israel! (Genesis 12:3) Believe God for His blessings!
Do YOU stand with Israel?
